Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Voff Haus Face of the Year website and contest (the “Service”), operated by Voff Haus (“we,” “us,” “our”). By accessing the Service, entering the contest, voting, or donating, you agree to these Terms and to our Official Rules and Privacy Policy, which are incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a legal resident of the United States to enter, vote, or donate. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate. We may verify eligibility at any time and disqualify anyone who does not qualify.

2. How the contest works

• Entries. One dog entry per person per contest. Entries are reviewed before they appear publicly, and we may decline or remove any entry at our discretion.
• Free votes. You sign in with Facebook to verify you are a real person and receive one (1) free vote per day for the duration of the contest.
• Paid (donation) votes. You may also support a dog with donation votes, which are not capped per day. A portion of donation proceeds benefits our charity partner, Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando (see the Official Rules).
• No self-voting or vote buying for your own entry. You may not cast or purchase votes for your own dog, and you may not use bots, scripts, multiple or fake accounts, or any other means to cast votes fraudulently.
• Rounds & winner. The contest runs as an open leaderboard phase followed by a final round among the top finalists. The dog with the most votes in the final round, subject to the Official Rules and tie-breakers, wins.

3. Content you submit & the license you grant

You retain ownership of the photos and information you submit. By submitting an entry, you represent that you own or have the rights to the content, that it does not infringe anyone’s rights, and that any people depicted have consented. You grant Voff Haus a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, display, and adapt your submitted content to operate and promote the contest and the Voff Haus brand across our website, email, social media, and marketing. You may request removal of your content by contacting us, subject to our Privacy Policy and Data Deletion process.

4. Donations & payments

Donation votes are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your full card details. Donations support the contest and our charity partner and are generally non-refundable, except at our sole discretion or where required by law. Donations made through the Service are not tax-deductible charitable contributions. You are responsible for any charges you authorize.

5. The prize

The grand-prize winner receives $4,000 and becomes the “face” of Voff Haus for an upcoming campaign, which may include a photoshoot and use of the dog’s name, image, and likeness in Voff Haus marketing. The winner (and the dog’s owner) must respond to our notification, verify eligibility, and may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility, a liability/publicity release, and a participation agreement. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash except at our discretion. The winner is solely responsible for all applicable taxes on the prize. If a winner cannot be reached, declines, or is disqualified, we may select an alternate. Full prize details are in the Official Rules.

6. Acceptable use & disqualification

You agree not to interfere with the Service, manipulate voting, submit unlawful, offensive, or infringing content, harass others, or attempt to gain unauthorized access. We may, at our sole discretion and without notice, remove content, suspend accounts, void votes, and disqualify any entrant who violates these Terms, the Official Rules, or the spirit of fair play.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including the Voff Haus name, logo, design, and content (other than content you submit), is owned by Voff Haus and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it without our permission.

8. Not affiliated with Facebook/Meta or Stripe

This contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta/Facebook or Stripe. Facebook is used solely as an identity-verification and login provider; Stripe is used solely as a payment processor. Any questions about the contest should be directed to us, not to Meta or Stripe.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Voff Haus and its affiliates, officers, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months or US $100.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Voff Haus from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

13. Changes & contact
