Privacy Policy — Voff Haus Face of the Year

This Privacy Policy explains how Voff Haus (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Voff Haus Face of the Year website and contest (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Facebook Login (voters). When you sign in with Facebook to vote, we receive your basic public profile — your name, Facebook user ID, profile picture, and your email address if you grant it. We use this only to verify you are a real person, give you one free vote per day, and help prevent fraudulent voting. We do not post to Facebook on your behalf.
Contest entries. If you enter a dog, we collect the information you submit: your name and email, and your dog’s name, breed, location, photos, and any bio you provide.
Voting & donations. We record the votes you cast and a record of any donations. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card details.
Technical data. Standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) used for security and to keep the Service running.

2. How we use your information

To operate the contest — register entries, count votes, and determine winners.
To verify voter identity and enforce one free vote per person per day.
To send you transactional email about your entry, donation receipts, and contest updates.
To display approved entries — a dog’s name, photo, and vote count are shown publicly as part of the contest.
To protect the integrity of the contest and prevent fraud or abuse.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service: Meta/Facebook (login and identity verification), Stripe (payment processing), and our email provider (sending email). A portion of donation proceeds supports our charity partner, Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando; we share only aggregate amounts with them, never your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law.

4. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to run the contest and for a reasonable period afterward, or as required for legal, tax, and accounting purposes (for example, donation records). You can request deletion at any time — see below.

5. Your rights & deleting your data

6. Cookies & sessions

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to keep the Service secure. We do not use them for third-party advertising.

7. Children

The Service is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

8. Not affiliated with Facebook/Meta

This contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta/Facebook or Stripe. Facebook is used solely as an identity-verification and login provider.
